Meater+ is a revolutionary barbecue thermometer which connects to your smartphone and allows you to remotely monitor both barbecue and meat temperature. The probe contains 2 thermometers, as well as its battery and Bluetooth transceiver – meaning Meater+ is totally wire-free. The real wood base station doubles as charger for the probe, and as Bluetooth repeater, giving you much greater wireless range.
The Meater smartphone app (for iOS and Adroid devices – free in your app store) is the best software we have found of its type. The intuitive app makes connecting the probe straightforward, and allows you to specify the cut you are cooking. The app tells you barbecue and meat temperatures, estimates cooking time, then notifies you when to remove the meat – even allowing for carry-over and resting time. It is no understatement to say Meater+ makes great barbecue results easier than every before.
Advanced functionality: monitor your cooking when you are away from home by connecting the Meater+ to a device you don’t mind leaving at home (eg iPad, connected to your wifi), and connect it to the Meater cloud. Use the smartphone app to check on your barbecue wherever you are.
Good to know:
- Meater+ is not intended for very high-temperature cooking, and should not be used in cooking environments above 275°C, or meats above 100°C.
- Meater+ has a 50m line-of-sight range. Like all Bluetooth devices, its range is affected by obstacles, particularly metal or concrete walls.
